alchemy of ashes FW26

about AoA.

The collection is an experiment in textures and processes, featuring wools, silks, hand
embroidery, human hair, moulage, and deconstructed denim. The second-to-last look, inspired by Albrecht Dürer’s 1500 engraving Witch Riding Backwards on a Goat, was fully hand-embroidered and incorporated human hair. The final look, named the Ashes Dress, was

created using fabric remnants from the entire collection, encapsulated in resin.
All the looks include Incantation, a John Dixon painting, printed on a unisex coat, as well as
garments that merge traditional tailoring with bold shoulder volumes and oversized lapels.
Innovative techniques such as laser cutting, manual embroidery, and assembly of pieces
through ribbon-cut patterns bring garments to life with a unique tactile and visual dimension. Several prints were developed from photographs taken by Rivas himself, giving historical elements a contemporary twist.
